All Garden for All lessons are hands-on and taught in PAHL’s Healthy Belvedere Community Garden outdoor classroom. The community garden is located behind Peace Lutheran Church (1679 Columbia Drive, Decatur 30032).
Registration is OPEN until Tuesday May 27th. There is a $25 fee for the program which includes a Garden for All t-shirt, healthy snacks, water and all supplies. Contact Brandie Moore (Brandie@PAHLGA.org or 404.996.6324) to register a child.
Garden for All youth plant vegetables in raised beds at PAHL’s Healthy Belvedere Community Garden, they learn about beneficial insects and honey bees, about how plants use soil, sun and water to grow, and they learn about nutrition. All of the lessons are experienced through hands-on learning. Lessons are fun- see roots growing; experience a lady bug release at the garden; grow vegetables and learn how to maintain a garden; get to see, touch and smell a variety of herbs and learn their common uses; build a worm farm and learn how trash makes soil.
Interested adults are encouraged to volunteer to be “Garden Buddies”. Garden Buddies learn alongside the youth while helping the program facilitator guide youth through the lessons.
Garden for All is provided by Partners in Action for Healthy Living (PAHL), Inc. (formerly Healthy Belvedere Initiative).
